Recorded access notes — from our research, possibly out of date
Cabinet Mountains Wilderness (Kootenai NF). No permits needed; power drills are prohibited in the wilderness, and bolts that exist were hand drilled on lead. Winter approach: 9 miles and about 2,000 ft of gain on skis or snowshoes from the end of the plowed Granite Lake road near Libby (the last 3 road miles are not plowed); the gully below the Thunderdome slides several times a year.
